In my opinion, two forms of gentle art came together for a calming weekend. Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu and surf in San Onofre, California. Yes, it was a lot of work to pack and prep for a weekend of camp. When we came home, we were sun burnt, tired as heck and our feet reminded us how powerful the rocks, ocean and mother nature can be. And yet, our mental state felt revived. Stronger. Monday rolled around and the outlook was to tackle what is weighing on our shoulders. Only to make room for more training, building friendships and more impromptu portraits sessions that truly drive my soul.

The kind of sisterhood you approve of. These girls were phenomenal taking the younger kids out in search of the waves.
Professor Joao Silva along with coaches and students from the Aloisio Silva Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu academy made sure the kids
were having fun and being safe in the water. A million thanks guys!

Listen. Learn. Respect.

When you love the gentle art that is Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, the training does not stop on the mat.

Moments, moments, moments. The kind of stuff that fills our eyes with happy tears and and our hearts with joy.
She met her fear of the ocean and her son thrived because of it.

Thank you to Professor Joao Silva and Coach Summer Casebere da Silva from the
Aloisio Silva Brazilian Academy for making this weekend happen! Everyone is waiting for the next date guys!

A bright future ahead.

If you are interested in training, check out the Aloisio Silva Brazilian Academy. They are pretty awesome!
